blueeagle69 - can you use Go Contacts to actually edit contacts? I can see the list of names, but if I long press, then select view or edit nothing happens? Does it work for you? Thanks!

Hi.
If I recall, yes, you can edit Contacts with that app.
I was forever adding contacts to my Google Contacts.
Unfortunately, I cannot test this now, because I have upgraded the tablet to Ice Cream Sandwich.
But Go Contacts EX was a real life-saver on the Gingerbread stock ROM.

I am experiencing this same issue on my Sumvision Cyclone Astro+ (very similar to the Excel I believe)

I have tried using both lots of zipped APKs in this thread.

BlueBeagles 2.3.4 apks didn't install. The OP apks (2.2.1) did install.

I can see the Sync Calendar option in the Google account, but the Calendar app simply isnt picking up my g-calendars.

In Calendar, when I select my google account, the icon spins for a slit second and then displays "no calendars" (I definitely have one setup, I can view it clear as day in a browser).

Any ideas folks? I'm running ICS 4.0.3 on my tablet (it came installed) and it is rooted (again, it came that way)

Hi.
Welcome to the forum

The Gingerbread Calendar won't work on ICS, even if you can install it.
The Calendar is broken on many leaked ICS releases.
Since ICS, Google integrated the sync adapter and calendar into one app.
What you need is this.
I have supplied a working calendar for ICS. I have uploaded it here.

Hope it works for you
Extract the apk from the archive, and copy it to /system/app
Delete the existing one.
You can either do this with a file manager that allows writing to the root. (ES File Explorer) .
Or from the PC, you can use Android Commander (http://androidcommander.com/)
Once the file has been copied to /system/app. Reboot your tablet, and try the calendar again.

Android commander is quite easy to understand, and is great for many ADB related tasks.
Ensure the drivers for your device have been installed. Or Android Commander will not find your device

hi guys, still doesn't work for me.
have got the 'Accounts and Sync' settings working - although it only shows 'Gmail' as an option. But I cannot get the Calendar (or Contacts) to sync.
I have attempted to install the two files 'Google Calendar Sync' and 'Google Contacts Sync' from the zip file using 'Scrol Apps', but after accepting to install, it comes back with the message 'Application not installed'.
I have noticed that the two apk files are version '2.3.3' and my Scroll Excel is version '2.3.4' would this make a difference do you think?
Is it possible to get hold of any updated Sync files?
Any help appreciated!

I am experiencing exactly the same problem you had with 'Application not installed'. Can you confirm what specifically was the solution for you? Was there a particular APK that worked?

Sometimes they install, sometimes they don't it seems.
I would push them to /system/app and reboot.
They should work then.
Use.Android Commander as I mentioned in a previous post.
The 2.33 version will work on 2.34

Thank you Blueeagle69 - My calendar has neve worked - I sideloaded your aps to my pc and simply copied the calendar app over - it immediately installed automatically and now the calendar sybcs fine and also contacts and everything welse syncs. You are right it appears to have woken up the automatic syncing of the calendar. Didn't need the 2.3.4 option.

I still don't see "Accounts and sync" when I go to system though although the app is there and presumably installed.

I have the 2.3.4 Scroll Excel and am trying to get the download posted right at the beginning of this thread so i can get my calendar working, but even now i am registered i just see:

"You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post"

Am i being dim? Or is there some sort of timeout after registering before you get to do certain things?
