How To "Flash Android 4.0.3 ICS" (Excel Only)

Anyone managed to get the Chrome Beta running? Mine just reports "Chrome beta has stopped" every time.

Hi all, I’m something of a noobie and I’m trying to follow this thread to upgrade my excel to ICS. The link to the firmware in the first post no longer works but I’ve dug around a bit and found this link: http://sdrv.ms/KbeDWK where I can see a 240Mb file Scroll_Excel_ICS_Test.rar.

The suffix ‘Test’ makes me a bit nervous. Can anyone advise if this is the appropriate firmware to use, and if not, where to find it. At the same time, this thread now runs to 30 pages but I’m happy to follow it if anyone can likewise confirm this is still the best method to adopt.

I downloaded this ROM to check the version number and it is not the one that I used to flash from Gingerbread 2.3.4 to ICS 4.0.3 but a later version. However, it is hosted by Suggsy89 so I am guessing it must be one of his ROMS. There were a few minor problems with the 4.0.3 that I used as a base to upgrade to 4.0.4. I feel confident that Suggsy wouldn't host a ROM that would break your tablet. I know he was going to do some more work on the Excel ROM but this was to port CM9 to the Excel.

@Suggsy Can you help us out here Suggsy with a little clarification, and does this ROM include CWM like your last one?

The livesuits link is dead, this is really starting to get anoying, i try to follow the guide but piles of the links dont work!
Any chance someone could upload it again?

There was a post about this from Suggsy89 stating that there was a problem with his livesuite account but I believe he is looking to getting this sorted, so perhaps try later.

EDIT I just checked the links and they have now been moved to sugarsync so you should have access again.

Try Here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2516 this is what I checked. Sorry I didn't check the OP which as you say the links to that are down. I don't know if the Excel ROM in the software list is the one to use or not. Need some confirmation from Suggsy89 on this please.

Hi Guys, I'm a complete novice to this but am trying to upgrade my Scroll Excel to ICS following suggsy89's fantastic guide (thanks everso). So far I have downloaded SDK and I'm trying to find the drivers, but they seem to have gone from suggsy89's box.com link ( http://www.box.com/s/5649f46db97cfbb3c117) any ideas where it has gone? or where else I can get it? as im a bit stuck now. I flash a lot of images, and my Vol+ is kind of dodgy now.

Hold down Home button, plug in usb cable, press Power button 6-10 times

Go to device manager on your PC and see if you have a yellow exclamation mark on portable devices.
If you have then you need to find and install the compatible usb drivers needed to connect your tablet to livesuite.
Livesuite does come with some usb drivers but they don't always work with Scroll tablets.
Have a look at device manager on your PC and see if this is the problem.
