Sumvision Cyclone Orion

Hi Guys
I have a Sumvision Cyclone Orion tablet, which I chose for the 3G capabilities.

The Android software on it is ok but pretty horrible. I wasn't expecting too much but it's not very enjoyable.

I can't find any details about updating it to ICS android 4 anywhere - the only reference I can see is for the Cyclone Astro and Astro+. I've looked all over to find out the OEM model of this unit, but there is very little information anywhere. Sumvision have more or less disowned the device and claim more-or-less no knowledge of it. It's listed as a product but that's about it.

The spec of it (on the box) are ARM11 CPU, 512Mb NAND + 256Mb memory, 7in WVGA display, b/g wifi, Apply F-Band 3G. There are some others but I presume they aren't really relevant.

Anyone know how I could find out if the Astro ICS firmware would work? I'd really like not to brick the device. I wouldn't mind trying it if I knew there was a back-out procedure (ie backup the current firmware first, and procedure to restore it).

Any advice appreciated - Thanks very much.

AS far as I can see the curent Astro use the Cortex A8 processor so it is totally different from your Cyclone which you say uses an ARM 11 processor. Don't try to flash the Astro image as you will undoubtedly brick the Cyclone.
Does your tab have a capacitive or a resistive screen?

You will need to find a suitable ICS rom that not only supports your tablets cpu - gpu and screen, but that also supports 3 - 4g mobile band otherwise you will completely lose your gps as well.
