Battery life

Postby dc1dc1 » April 24th, 2012, 8:00 am

Can you tell me what the real world battery life is for this product & if there has been any degradation in this time over the months?

Thanks,
Dave

Can't say I have "timed" my usage but so far it takes a good battering with game play and browsing.

Also depends whether you leave your Wireless on, and update automatically active.. as this will use battery whenever it likes :)

The new firmware boots up quite quick, so you could always turn it off when you are done with it?...lets put it this way, i haven't been dissapointed with it and I only got mine on Thursday last week, and been playing, tweaking and using it alot. I've charged it most nights, but as I say I have been on it alot.

Is this question the elephant in the room for this product as the manufacturer seems to sidestep this along with most on this forum or has it been asked so many times you are all fed up answering it (I can’t find many when I search)?

It depends on what you are doing. Also the screen brightness etc.

On average i'd say about 5-6hrs. But if you play intense 3D games with wifi on it will be less.

Video playback from SD is really good, rekon about 10 hrs at least.

Thanks for your responses it’s much appreciated.

I know battery life is a moving target depending what you are doing & I only really want it as a book reader with a bit of web surfing so I’m sure it will be fine.

I’m new to anything Android & see that you all seem to have upgraded to ICS, I read the how to do this on the forum & it looks a bit complicated (maybe I will wait until I get a bit of experience behind me).

If you go for the £80 one from Amazon it comes pre-loaded with ICS and the Market is accesible etc.. no need to "tweak".

Doh - It is looking out of stock right now :(

These tablets seem to come in all sorts of specs from various makes/models. The beauty is get your hand on one and once confident you can flash and tweak it how you like :)
