Android Market/Google Play device compatibility

Hi all,
I have seen a few posts about this but still can't find an answer.
I have a Scroll Excel 3d and there are loads of apps that I just can't install because good old Google doesn't like my device, all I get is "this device is not compatible".
When I look at "my devices" in Google Play, it shows my Scroll as unknown maker and no carrier (obviously!) so not sure if this has a bearing on it. My colleague has a Scroll Essential and he can get more apps than me (Grrr).
I can see my Motorola phone and can install these apps but not on the damn tablet!
Specifically I was after Tunein Radio and Pocketband Uloops, so can anyone else see them in the Market or on Google Play with their Scroll Excel?
I know people have done various mods to the tablet but I don't want to turn it into a vegetable just yet and invalidate the warranty.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I did manage to get my Huawei PAYG dongle working on it though!!
Cheers

You could try AllWinner Mod that Suggsy found:
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2190I didn't have a huge success with it, changing screen size did allow a lot more apps to show up, but then the Excel looked like a big old phone interface - and I rather like the ICS tablet screen.
I think you need a rooted device, then again mine was rooted when it arrived. Also, it doesn't seem to save your original build.prop file, so you might want to make a backup (otherwise Google will forever think you have an AllWinner A10)

Thanks Porkchop,
I just tried the link to the Allwinner Mod on Google Play, and guess what, "my device isn't compatible"......!!!! Aaargh!
My colleague just checked and he can see Pocketband Uloops in the market on his Scroll Essential, but when he tried to get his device info from Android Assistant it just crashed.
Any other ideas anybody??

Has anyone got a copy of the AllWinner Mod .apk that they could upload for us Gingerbread users please?
Thanks
