ICS build.prop

Postby porkchop » March 18th, 2012, 1:26 pm

I installed the AllWinner Mod to see more apps in the market, it didn't really help a lot and I didn't back up my old build.prop (doh!)

Anyone got a build.prop I can use - or is there a better one to see more apps? If I tweak this file can I mess up my tablet because I was thinking of trying a few things myself.

Also am I right in thinking if I have adb running I can always restore a working build.prop in case of problems?

Thanks,

Check this out it will help http://androidcommander.com/
You can use the program to pull or push files to your Excel
Also, see attached build.prop, should be stock.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Thanks Suggsy, I've just done something weird to my Excel, I installed BusyBox and when I rebooted it looked like a factory reset had happened, and I can't download apps from the market. Just says downloading and never finishes. I think the sdcard got mounted read-only but I'm not sure. So what I'm trying to do is use LiveSuit to reflash your original ICS img but I can't get the vol+ trick to work to start Livesuit flashing, is there some special trick I'm missing?

Do you have the Google Android SDK and its platform-tools installed? You need adb and the drivers installed to be able to connect to your Excel.

Hmm those are the ones I am using. I'm probably just being a dork:

Hold down vol+ press power 6-10 times. Worked before but I can't get it to work now. Bugger!

Tried various combinations of home/vol + and power and finally got it to work :) Thanks, man. Also got the original build.prop back as a side effect. Lost all apps though!
