They already have the extreme on the way, It's probably easier to mass produce more tablets than it is to release an upgrade.

That's just it.
Because SO don't actually produce anything in the literal sense of the word. They receive new models as fast as the well-oiled machine of the Chinese manufacturer dishes them out.

More tablets or upgrade?

It seems to me that we have not a hope in hell of keeping up.
I got an email from Amazon this morning for a 7" tablet with ICS that looks like it well outperforms the Excel and for just £80.00: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... mJjjbCkMLk

Sounds nice, albeit a bit on the chunky side :)

Already have an Ainol 7 Paladin.

It is NOT an upgrade, it uses a horrible MIPS processor which reduces the number of apps you can run drastically.

Yes it does run ICS, but it does so pretty slowly and if you think the Excel Flash issues are annoying you are in for a proper headbanging when you try iplayer, its absolutely goddawful with perhaps a frame a second and a 3 second lag on top.

I much prefer the Excel.

Good catch - just goes to show you can't always believe the Glossies in the adverts - it is always nice to hear peoples experience with other devices. :D

Woo 2 point multi touch lol, I enabled the debug output on ICS to see where you touch the screen, the scroll detects me placing 4 fingers on it

The 2 point touch on that tablet is this:

1: Turn it on [realise it's cr*p]
2: Turn it off & place it in the man draw.
