hi all any one reading ics thread prob knows i nuked my power button just after some opinions AND REASONS as to which button is best to lose as i want to remap the power to a different button
on ICS and GB
on ICS i think change the menu button with power as you have a soft menu buttom on screen also can i then get a soft button somehow on GB?
please post your opinion and reasons so i can decide whats best on ICS and GB
thanks in advance

@Mitre - Sorry to hear about the power button, that does make things very difficult. Do you think it's just a untimely hardware fault or another issue that caused it?
For GB there is an app that creates soft buttons for you, someone posted about it recently, that might be of use to you.

think its hardware but not 100% i know i did some thins with the allwinner app about buttons cant remember and i also did adb shell poweroff -f which forces shutdown imediate without going through init so maybe that did some thing the button certainly feels as solid as the rest clicks at press etc but it is erratic only works sometimes as you said in the ics thread it was flying along and you lose track of what happened when!

@Mitre
It is hard to pin point if it's a hardware or software issue at the mo'. Can you still connect via adb? If so start logcat and then press the power button quite a few times and see if any errors show up.

did logcat on android commander nothing really stands out but TBH i dont really know what i'm looking for if it is software, it is something changed on the board as i have limped back to stock scroll firmware and it was like it all the way ICS Tablo 2.3 them my backup like i say the actual button does not feel spongey or anything

From what you say it does seem more of a hardware issue, not the button but like a dry/lose solder joint connecting the button to the board. Might need to open it up and have a look.
