Do we have a recommended upgrade path to ICS

Hi,
I been keeping up to date with various threads in upgrading the Excel to ICS
I think I am becoming more confused with each thread.
So, are we yet in a position where a non – technical user who just wants to upgrade to ICS can follow some simple instructions to follow and it is fully working on the Excel ?
I get the impression it is still work in progress, if so when one of you are happy with a final result will you post it as a new thread.
Thanks

Hi,

I have followed Suggsy89's directions and successfully upgraded my excel to ICS, How To "Flash Android 4.0.3 ICS" (Excel Only) the only problem i found was the stock browser was still really slow and hung a few times but this was easily resolved by installing Opera Mobile. Market\Shop is also now fully open and can install anything.
So far installed all the usual suspects, facebook, ebay, dropbox, 4shared, books etc and all working great with no problems.
All the issues that were there before have gone, video really sharp with no lypsync issues, flash 11.1 working great, wifi faster etc.
Dont know how easy it is to go back but to be honest i really wouldnt want to.
One other thing, i was having a good mess around with it and just reflashed it again with suggsy's ics with no problems.

@Tony
Im not sure why you are really asking this?
Although you do sound confused.
Technicly we can not "upgrade" from Gingerbread
To upgrade to ICS, you need to follow this post >> https://scrolltabletforum.sevo.uk/site/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=2155
Which means totaly wiping the Excel of Gingerbread, basicly starting a fresh.
Its the only way at the moment, and it is also the best firmware I have found.
