Hi.
Can anyone confirm that the HDMI port on the Excel is 1.3?
(Apparently it's important for the mini HDMI port cover.)
I am in the process of ordering some port covers. Mainly for the audio jack, mini USB and mini HDMI from here.

Sorry I don't know - All I know is that it's a mini HDMI port.

Great idea on the port covers, I was not aware that you could get them, do they only come in blue?

Unfortunately mate I don't think they do
The mini HDMI one only fits 1.3 ports. So I will have to checkup on that.

@blueeagle69 - I've heard that (other than its physical size), the way to identify and HDMI port is by the capability of the device its installed in.

I believe that 3d (an Excel feature) was only standardised from HDMI revision 1.4/4a onwards, so that would indicate a 1.4 port on the Excel.

However, as a 1.4 plug is backwards compatible with a 1.3 port, I would have thought that the cover should fit either.

So, that's a definite 'Maybe' then!

Thanks Excel. I thought it was 1.4 because of the 3D. 1.3 will support 3D, but not HD at the same time.
I will order a mini USB, mini HDMI and audio port cover from TOPI Covers. I thought it would fit too tbh.

I think they should do blue ones too.
In fact I also think that the Excel should come with blue LED's too. There oughta be a law against not fitting blue LED's
