Hi all,

I have been working with Mitre over on this thread and it seems like the 1st gen Scroll, the Excel has a bit of an ID issue. I am currently putting together a new build.prop for the Excel, so hopefully we will get more apps available in the market.


At the moment I am not sure which current (ie. a brand name like HTC or Samsung, etc) device running 2.3.4 (with a Cortex A8) that has a lot of apps available) for it (ie, supported by devs) to use for the new ID of the Excel. Also I am trying to pick a device that is fairly close in matching the same hardware as the Excel.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Dave (FF) - Not sure, but with that only having 2.2 - it might not show apps that can run in 2.3.4 and above - I think

To sum it up, I know how and what to edit in the build.prop, but I am trying to find another device that has the same CPU/GPU as the Excel and with OS 2.3.4

i think either the google nexus or the HTC flyer
i understand that HTC have now adopted the 18d1 vendor id which is what google use for there phones so thats a starting point

I thinking the best donor id out of all those is the Nexus S, it also has the same screen resolution of the Excel

Yep, done that already on my excel and increased vm cache to 42m.

Just going to do mainly id for market. Then more stuff in build.prop V2

Looking forward to this, a lot of applications I've tried to install come back with "not compatible on your device"

me too its funny but some apps are available for my old scroll but not Excel Charlies on the case so i'm shure he will sort it (QUEEN) Under pressure pressing down on me da da da dada da da

Yer none of the gameloft apps work, and they are some of the best games. If this would give acces to those then I can't wait!!
