I 'm having problems with a number of apps which seem to struggle to recognise my excel and think it is a different device every time I turn it on. Specifically view ranger, requires me to re-register my device every time I run the software. It seems to have a different device ID each time. Spotify is also failing to sync any music as it insist I have to many devices (lots of scrolls?) Am I the only one or is this a common fault?

Ok so now I know the cause just need a solution

Using "test phone info" (android market place) I have found that my Device_ID changes which means that I can't use any apps that record your device ID

Anyone else with the problem and any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi Ian, that sounds odd, have you figured out when the id changes ? i.e. after its been rebooted etc. ?

Are you shere its not the ip address
Changing maybe set static ip on router
Dont know just a thought

Not sure when it happens as scroll has a tenacity to restart its self. But it is the Device ID, 15 characters, have logged 3 so far today but have only checked four time. eg: 357****016696145, 357****09481394, 357****716947
one of those appeared in Viewranger when I tried to register my maps yet again

Now to check if my HTC phone has a variable Device ID
