Another "newbie" with dumb questions!

Hi everyone - great forum!
I just received my Excel in the post today (wasn't expecting it before Christmas so I'm a happy chappy) - and I've already found some great tips on this site, so thanks very much!
However, I'm a bit bemused by something - I've downloaded the latest Market application, and also the Gmail application, yet they don't appear on the Applications screen. I know they're installed as I can create shortcuts to them from the Home screen. But why are they not in the Applications screen?

Next couple of issues:
BBC iPlayer was pre-installed - I'm finding the playback very poor, lots of "stop-start" behaviour, despite appearing to have excellent WiFi connectivity.
ITV Player was installed by me (following the instructions I found on here) - why doesn't it handle landscape mode?

And finally, I'd like to be able to access the huge amount of media (FLACs and AVIs/MKVs) that I have on a NAS. Is this possible? I can't seem to find a way to access network resources.

Thanks in advance, and apologies if this is all stuff that's been answered before.

Ian.

I run Squeezebox Server on my NAS so was able to find SqueezePlayer which effectively turns my Scroll into a SqueezeBox. Happy with that.
I also installed MX Video Player which seems happy playing whatever I throw at it off the network. So that's sorted.

Still can't work out why some installed programs don't appear though. And still not totally happy with the OD TV applications.

Ian.
