Via CWM5 it will backup user apps too. Just not internal or external sdcard.

Cheers Charlie.
Oh well, I don't really want to uninstall all my installed apps, just to dump a copy of the firmware with Calendar sync adpater etc included. I could backup with Titanium or QtADB of course first, and then do a mass uninstall, followed by a firmware dump.
I think I will leave as is for now :)

Hi Charlie,

Sorry a bit behind the times - not been on here for a day or two.

I double checked my build and you are correct it is the later one: 97F1-D1-H1-H01-1291-20111128
So it seems that I fall into the majority camp on this one.
Thanks for keeping me in the loop - I will continue to follow you guys who seem very proficient - until something concrete turns up.

Cheers.

Little update - don't know if any of this information helps or hinders.
I was unable to download ITV player - kept getting "Incompatible with your device" message.
Not to be be beaten I found ITV player.apk here:

http://www.4shared.com/file/C3ZvcFZM/IT ... furl=d1url

which I sideloaded via my desktop PC.
What puzzles me is that I have no lip-sync issues at all with ITV player but I still do with BBCi player and streaming live TV?

Hope this additional info helps.
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Just noticed on the Tablo forums that somebody has no sync issues when using MX Video Player Codec pack ARMv7.

Has anybody tried this? I am at work so cant try it at the moment.

I am using that media player. And I was using that codec.
It is great. Even better now with Mitre's firmware. Although on the seemingly newer firmware there was a problem with lower quality videos especially.

Has anybody found an answer to this lip-sync issue on the Excel yet by any chance?

I have read this thread, but i'll be honest and say I dont fully understand alot of what's being said :( lol.

Any help or update would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi mancity
i had one of he first excel's to be imported and it had a different version of Android 2.3 scroll firmware as its operating system when everyone started complaining about lipsync issues it was obvious that my excell could play video without the lypsinc problem(only a slight bit on bbc iplayer) blueeagle69 bricked his excell and we managed to fix it with a version of my OS that i had previously uploaded for just this kind of thing. after that his lypsync was alot better Charlie then decided to use my OS as its better for video
MX Video Player is an app for playing video and the Codec pack ARMv7.is an update for that app for Armv7 chips (ie excel)
At the moment to use the same OS as me Chalie and blueeagl69 you would have to install clockworkmod5 and then flash my firmware (but this would mean modifiying the Excel and you could void your warranty
I am looking at trying to make an update.zip with My Operating Systrem so that you can all just put it on sdcard boot into recovery and update with stock recovery no modification needed

Cheers mate.

I will wait patiently then.

It would be very nice if Storage Options could put out a fix. I just got a new phone (Xperia Ray) and that actually out-performs my Excel (in every respect), so im just getting a little miffed that I cant play media on my Excel without being disappointed.

Please Note: Using the early FW version is an great improvement, but is NOT a fix for all the lip/av sync issues!
