@Mitre - Yes I did, thanks for the idea. It didn't work though, kept copying stuff to a clipboard or some such... it might have been a peculiarity of the particular keyboard I was using or it might have been a 'feature' of Gingerbread.

I think the way to go might be a combined keyboard / trackpad. In the meantime, 'just for fun' I might see if a powered USB hub with keyboard and mouse attached will be functional... certainly not practical though!

@Mitre - I hooked up a wired Microsoft keyboard and MS optical mouse via a 'no name' powered USB hub... it was hopeless.

Powered up, without the keyboard or mouse attached, the hub seemed to generate random instructions and kept opening up various apps. At one point it managed to open up the Terminal all by itself and started inserting random characters...methinks that way lays danger!

Connecting the keyboard and mouse via the hub seemed to settle things down a bit, but neither actually did much... I think I managed to get the mouse to click on some apps, but it could have been down to a random 'spike' from the hub.

Connecting the mouse direct via the OTG cable, lit it up, but nothing useful happened. The keyboard connected directly was a passable success, but I couldn't successfully 'click' (enter key) any links, so that's not great.

I think the USB connectivity aspects of Gingerbread are pretty basic, but it is a phone OS, so I suppose we can't expect much. However, ICS is designed for tablets, so I would imagine that has better USB integration, maybe even the bluetooth you're chasing... but that's another topic for another time!

Pressing Left or right Shift on my keyboard on the Time2 case brings up a mouse Icon :o In dolphin mini browser.

So I can't even do Shift+F10

CTRL+V and CTRL+C don't work for me.

I've tried every possible combination. I can't find anything that would be the select key.

Check my updated review as I have found what a lot of the keys do:

It seems a lot of the keys only function properly in the default browser.

Does anyone know if the Excel would charge from this please?
http://goo.gl/3HuzN

I read somewhere that the Excel refused to charge via USB if the current was over 1000mah.
But I always thought the device would only draw what it needed?
Anyway I will leave it to anyone that may be more qualified than me :)

Thanks.

I finally added some airtime to my Huawei E160G 3G dongle (Three network) and it just works!

I'm a bit of a luddite and am still on 2.3 (Gingerbread), but it's great, I can now use the Excel fully mobile.
