HI!

I already have an Excel 53715, which I love ;-)

I ticked the "hidden google app" button and got full access to marketplace with no problem.

I have just sent for a 54585 for my wife. Can you tell me whether the same method will work with that?

THanks!

I was having massive issues with my scroll excel 2.3 so was upgraded to the scroll excel 4.0.3 model 54585 8gb.

Received it today and have been playing with it for a few hours and wow what a difference to the 2.3, seems to have a better screen - sharper and brighter, touch sensitivity on the screen has improved, lip sync issues have been sorted - I have tried this out with video streams from the internet as well as my own converted files and it now has no issues with lip sync. This was one of the major disappointments with 2.3 so well chuffed on this point. I use mx player. More responsive and haven't had any rebooting or non responsive messages as of yet again a major issue with the 2.3

I haven't managed to get a google play widget onto the tablet yet but can access through the internet and have downloaded many of the apps I had previously. Some however appear to be missing now I am assuming this is something to do with ICS.

Battery life seems good so far - been on for 3 hours 40 minutes and still has 58% battery left and that's with wifi on constant since boot up.

Having 8gb internal appears to have helped reduce the lag on opening apps etc too.

So far very happy after being disillusioned with my original excel. :D

Just read this - looks to be what I was after, ES File explorer does allow SMB file browsing but I hadn't been able to see the tablet share on my mixed Linux/Windows network. I'll give this a whirl and if it does what it says on the can a big thank you suggsy.
