there you go un zip then put folder on the root of sd and choose zip with cwm
if you already have a clokworkmod/backups folder put it in there nd choose restore both ways should work

Thanks Mitre you are a star just downloading now, can you advise on how I return recovery back to stock afterwards ?

suggsy you would need to make the update zip so it has the stock scroll recovery after flashing was this your aim otherwise would have to still push stock recovery via ADB when i went back to GB from ICS i kept CWM5

As long as the update is signed correctly in theory it can be flashed from stock recovery.
So technicly you wouldnt need to flash CWM.

i see what you are saying flash your nupdate.zip from the tablo recovery makes sense now
i have been looking for your update .zip on my pc but cant find it i may have it on an sd card but i not home for a week
if i find it will pm a link

push it to /dev/block using adb or android commander dont know if it will work as not tested you are the test

Thanks Mitre, I will give it a go as soon as I get this clean install working so far I cannot get it to flash via CWM5 I must be doing something wrong

have you put tried putting it in clockworkmod/backup

There was no clockworkmod/backup. I have manualy created the folders then copied the unzipped excel_cleanCWM5 folder into the backup directory. selected restore from within CWM5 but it flashes up saying invalid directory.

seems to be working now, I didnt reboot the excel after I copied the files across assumed unmounting from the pc was enough. Just rebooted and it findes the files and is currently flashing. stage 1 done will try the recovery shortly.

you must unzip my download then put the whole folder into backup on sd card

ok I pushed the recovery-dump.img to dev/block using androind commander it compeated the flashed up on the pc screen with an access violation. rebooted scroll and its still booting into cwm5
