Would you like to see Ice Cream Sandwich on the Scoll Excel Tablet ?

Yes, but only if SO provide the upgrade.

I would love to see ICS on this device! Like a previous user said before, the ability for plug and play game controllers would be a dream, emulators on the go! This may be a slow process but hopefully SO will get back to us soon.

Hi Everyone,

I've had a reply back from Paul at SO... it's not what we were hoping for, but I've thanked him for clarifying the issue so promptly.

Here's his response
Android 4
We won't offer an upgrade to Android 4. We're just not geared up (financially or in people terms) to support this type of extra service. We're are starting to see Android 4 tablets become available on the market and perhaps we will bring one out this year, off the shelf, but our model does not have the room to offer users an upgrade path. Sorry.

Regards

This is very dissappointing, hopefully someone will come up with a relatively pain free way to do it ourselves.

Thanks for the update Excel.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

We must find out if this can be done.
Maybe storage options could try it out on a cosmetic return .
They must be making a lot of cash whats there to lose if they balls it up , they are not liable to replace the scroll excel if we tampered with it.
I know no chance just a thought. :D

Since SO are not going to provide an update to ICS, perhaps they would be kind enough to provide information on whats in the box and who made it so we can source an upgrade ourselves. I have an idea that from what I have been reading that its an Allwinner A1x product ??

An extract of a post of mine elsewhere:
Excel wrote:Looking at the support FAQs for the Tablo (an Excel clone?) via http://www.box.co.uk/Tablo_7_Tablet_with_Capacitive_Multi-To_1156442.html it says:

Q. Will Android 3 (Honeycomb) or 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) be available for Tablo?
A. Android 3 has now been replaced by version 4 so you will not see Honeycomb on Tablo. However it is possible that Android 4 could be released for Tablo at some point in the future. Stay tuned for more information.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't, maybe they don't like to say 'No!'
