They have their information wrong.

I take it the app in question was busybox? - If so, that app does not root a device it is for a rooted device. As for them saying "rooting a device which invalidates any warranty" - Well then all Excel's must have no warranty as they are sent out already rooted.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

I did the same awhile back (for a mono9) - but could not do anything with the extracted files.

Those extracted files are a sparse ext4 image and you need to use simg2img (I think)

@Charlie - What's your firmware version number?

I'm going to email Paul at SO directly and request that both the earlier (Yours / Mitre / blueeagle69) stock firmware version as well as the one that the majority of us are on be made available. I'll post back here with Paul's response.

Regards

Nice one Excel.
This is fast becoming farcical.
I am just about to email again too, to correct his idea if what Busybody is used for.

Thanks matey. I may in fact have it in my recent contacts.
Apparently Bill said that Paul is on leave.
He did state that he was going to forward my initial mail to him so he can respond when he gets back.
