I did some googling on Allwinner and Sync issues after probs with my Tablo and found this (not tried it myself yet, but at least BBC admit a problem):

http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/27816-bbc-iplayer-fix-working-in-uk/

Hi
All got bbc iplayer working in UK ok download this bbc link APK APP onto SD and onto tablet http://www.mediafire...wq3zb40z6d71toe
once on tablet this is the only app that allows to stream at slower KBPS
ok once you open bbc iplayer go into bbc iplayer settings
there you will find video quality high-medium-low all at different streaming speeds KBPS
tick low 400kbps now it will play perfect sync picture is not the sharpest
you could try meduim at 500kbps but i noticed it was jerky and out of sync
got a email from bbc they are hoping to have a new apk out which will reduce speed of stream with high quality picture
as they know they is a problem with android tablets after they upgraded there streaming system in December

1) How bad is the lag you experience?
So far from Youtube, watching various videos, sync seems excellent with Mitre's f/w
2) Who is your isp?
TalkTalk
(From PC)
PC Speed Test
D/s 11718 KBIT/s
U/s 896 KBIT/s
Connections 1399 (Excellent)
Ping 56
Evaluation Excellent

(From Excel)
D/s 11310 KBIT/s
U/s 856 KBIT/s
Connections 900
Ping 52
Evaluation Excellent.

Can't see nay point in judging the Excel with iPlayer until the Beeb sort it out.
Will try Netflix again next.

Update:
Netflix started off in sync, then deteriorated to just under a second behind the video.

Overall though, with Mitre's f/w, local videos play much better, and so does Youtube. I can actually enjoy Youtube again now, instead of switching to the little screen on my faithful old Nokia 5800 :)

I may have gotten things wrong. It seems on Netflix that the audio is in fact ahead of the video?

I agree if you mean the iPlayer app - but if you stream (BBC iPlayer) through the stock web browser on the Excel - with Mitre's FW version - (which I am now using too) - I find the lip-sync issue greatly reduced, it now only happens now and again, rather than all the time as I on my original FW.

Cool Charlie. As you know I am using Mitre's firmware, lol.
I will have a looksee. I wonder what it's like on Dolphin HD? That has been my default browser since going to Android.

Thanks again Charlie :)
