Excel

Same here, you can swap them about too, as long as it is the same network provider.

Has anyone confirmed if 3g Usb modems would work on our Excel? It would be a great bonus to be able to get on the internet anywhere with our tablets. Using my desire HD as a wifi hotspots all fine and well but it kills my battery.

The other hardware thread has a post saying that it's a no for now. Its a real shame as I have an iPhone 3GS and it can only USB or Bluetooth tether and the Excel doesn't have Bluetooth! :-(

I'd be really interested in working on this too. I bought a Scroll Essential 2 weeks ago and although I knew there was no Bluetooth hardware I stupidly assumed there would be drivers as the 2 really cheap tablets I previously had (128Mb Android 1.6 ones) did have basic Bluetooth support. On one of those I removed the camera (no real value to me) and substituted a £1 (from PoundWorld) Bluetooth adaptor.

http://rgwni.blogspot.com/2011/04/table ... tooth.html

The reason for this was to allow me to communicate with a number of DIY Bluetooth devices I've been working on (temperature sensors and a car diagnostics box) as well as the Lego Mindstorms controller (TM).

I've ordered up an OTG to USB female adaptor to try out some peripherals.

Where would be a good place to look for the Bluetooth libraries to add to the ROM image?

Thanks

Glenn
