I'd say mine crashes about 1 in3 times when I turn off the wi-fi and then back on again.
Other than that - no crashes in 2 weeks or so.

had mine since 19 Dec it has not crashed once i have advanced task killer installed set to aggresive and 30 minute auto kills it is surprising how many apps constanntly open themselves on android dont know if this helps but even my galaxt s2 starts to slow up if too many apps have opened themselves its the same old thing as windows where the software developers only want their app to work no matter what it does to everything around it

I had exactley the same, the device rebooted as and when it wanted too, did not matter if i was writing an email, surfing the internet or looking at apps

Mine has now been sent back for either a fix or replacement product.

I guess we will need to wait and find out what Storage Options can do to resolve this issue,

If you are on the verge of sending back, try resetting back to factory setting first.

To do this power it off make sure its plugged in to the power, then hold the setting key down at the same time as holding the power on, keep them both pressed until the option comes up to reset, you then use the plus and minus keys of your volume to navigate up and down the menu and the power button to confirm actions.

Cheers,

Perhaps I will reset, I have a installed lot of stuff on it, but like I said that never upset any of our Samsung Android phones. Still, maybe there is a rogue app in there affecting stability and I will be a little more careful when I set it up next time.

Furthermore, short of parting with £300+ for an Asus Transformer or Samsung, ALL Android pads seem to have similar flakey issues. I looked at sending this back, paying a bit more for an Archos 101 G9. If you are too, check out their forums first ;-) Notwithstanding the extra £100 or so, you might be better off staying put anyway!

All these sorts of niggles inc video playback SHOULD be resolvable via firmware, fingers crossed they will update the Excel soon.

Oh well its been sent back. Was thinking of getting it replaced but have asked for a refund. A shame as it could have been good. But the crashing/reboots just made it useless.

Also not impressed that the same thing without the Scroll name on it can be bought for £30 less on at least two web sites and on ebay.

The idea of a good but buget priced tablet is great, but it needs to work all the time !

Desperately DON'T want to send mine back, if possible, for one if you wanted a replacement reckon you could be waiting a while. Secondly, as I said previously I don't think there's anything else better at this price. As you say, we're all lured by the idea of a budget priced tablet, but I'm wondering if we're just getting what we paid for?

If I had £300+ to spend on a tablet it would be an Apple not Android. I love Android but the iPads are the still the best. I wouldn't buy the £99 Tablo either, even though I am sure its the same as the Excel. There doesn't seem to be any support for it, its worth the extra £30 to have the backing of a UK company like Storage Options.

I have changed some the of the apps/config on mine to see if that helps for a bit, and I am also still prepared to wipe it and start again.

I going to wait a bit longer for Storage Options to at least answer my support call, and hopefully release new firmware soon.

I agree within this price bracket that failure rate will be higher than that of the big boys. I think the device has a lot of potential and we'll hopefully see some updates and even better Android 4 (aka icecream sandwhich). The only issue I have is with the audio being slightly out of sync, but then again I did do a factory reset which may also have helped.
