Couple of questions about excel

No I did a factory reset and it still didn't go post the balloon screen. The reset would have wiped setcpu settings so could it still have effected it some other way?

Did you have the mains power charger plugged into he scroll when you did the reset? I know that the 1st Gen Scroll would not do the factory reset with out external power connected. (not sure if this applies to the excel too)

It is a strange one - maybe it was nothing to do with setcpu, and it was another app and/or the scroll just went 'pop'

- had you deleted or renamed files in the system/app or system/ part of the file system?

due to the problem it is being sent back and replaced. when i get the replacement i don't want any problems and i am wary what not to put on it.

any ideas what i should avoid doing that could have caused the problem? i do want to put busybox and superuser as i can't see them being the cause as it comes pre rooted as confirmed by the terminal emulator.

any suggestions?

Busybox should be on it already mine was as said in previous post you dont think it happened cos you put busybox on again also you could have waited for the battery to run down then charge up and reboot as we cant do a battery pull

i looked in the app draw and no busybox. i wouldnt have thought iknstalling it again if it was already there would have caused the problem.

yep, i tried to do the factory reset while it was powered at the wall.

that fully discharging and recharging may have done something but surely as i managed to get into the recovery and the reset didnt work, there must have been something else wrong.

any suggestions for when the new one comes as to what to install/do and what to not install/do?

right, i really hope someone will at least respond this time.

i have been given a refund by ebuyer for the excel i had to rma. i have now ordered another from scan.

storage solutions have emailed back stating that although they cant obviously check all 3rd party apps, the ones i had installed shouldnt be a problem for it, even the superuser and busybox i had installed or any others.

could someone who has fully rooted it (installed superuser etc) let me know what they have installed and if they have any problems.

hi got root got busybox v1.18.3 both on scroll from box (you wont see busybox in the app drawer)
added terminal emulator v1.0.39 viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1730
added superuser v3.0.7and updated the binary
added itv player viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1719
flased a custom recovery viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1800
i got no problems at all
