cant connect to wifi

when i tried the youtube app that had been fine earlier in the day it froze so i restarted and tried again but no luck. i then tried the internet itself and no good. i noticed that although it was showing connected to wifi (the wifi symbol in notification bar) it was coloured white not green.

i had tried all the options i could think including clearing cache, forgetting my wifi and re-scanning and inputting the details etc so i decided to backup the apps with titanium then go into cwm recovery and factory reset.......... also no good!!!!!

any ideas guys?

should i put ICS on there? this should be better anyway but could it solve the issue? i looked at the guide but when i saw that there were further steps to get this, that and the other working it scared me off.

by connecting to my phone as a tether the wifi symbol went green but still wouldn't connect. i then reconnected to my proper wifi then the symbol went green but again no good.

no sites connect, nothing downloads from market and no YouTube vids play.

i even restored from my nandroid backup, no good

also, all my other wifi devices connect fine and they are all wireless n

if youve done a nandroid restore to a known working timeline it sounds like it may be hardware related

i deleted 'free power widget' as i thought it could be causing issues due to it controlling wifi. i had to come to the in- laws so i tested it here and it is working.

i think it is more likely removing the power app that sorted it as my wifi at home was fine with my other devices. also i then found there is already a power widget i think from the same developer built in which may have conflicted with the downloaded one even though it was okay before.

now i have it sorted, i am still tempted to try ics. the 2 different posts suggest i need to follow the first method using the pc method before 'updating' with the cwm method and latest build zip, is that right?

aaaaaaaaaaargh!

just came home and no connection again.

it cant be the router as my other devices connect. cant be the scroll as it works at the in laws.

my theory is some sort of interference such as my new ip camera. if the scroll has a weaker signal, maybe it gets affected easier?

EDIT.... i think i found the problem. i happened to notice the ip address assigned to the excel was the same as the static one i had set up my ip camera with.
i found a rough guide to how to assign a static ip address on android and luckily the excel has the static ip option. i put in some generic numbers and now it connects.
