I registered my Excel with SO recently and also saw the gift promise but have received nothing other than a confirmation email from SO.
I thought many had seen this ebuyer review otherwise I would have highlighted it as I first saw it well before Christmas. This review also has a link to it on the SO Web pages where SO point out the innaccuricies within the review. 8-)
