Flash Issue (Maybe?)

Postby mancity » January 31st, 2012, 8:22 am

Hi guys,

Having tried Netflix and youtube on my Scroll Excel, I have noticed that the sound is always a second faster than the video and therefore it is always out of sync. It was worse on Netflix but still noticeable on Youtube.

As it's rather annoying, is this -

A). Something that I can fix through installing an app/ update...
B). Something I have to live with because it happens with all Scrolls (hardware capability)...
or
C). Something wrong with my particular Scroll...

I have read the "Review and Mini Blog" thread and in the conlusion he mentions this also, but nobody had commented on whether this is 'the norm' or whether it's fixable :?:

Having only just got my Scroll, and the only other tablet iv'e previously had was an Advent VEGA (which didn't have these issues), im just trying to get a feel for the device and what it is and isnt capable of.

Being advertised as 'your media companion', I hope this out of sync video isnt what everybody gets...

Unfortunately this is an issue affecting all Excels and IMHO an update to the firmware should fix this issue.

Thanks alot for your reply.

This update you mention, is it available now or is it simply a hope that an update will appear?

SO website doesn't seem to have any updates for this model.

Apparently SO are looking into it.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

Thanks. Just going to have to wait then aren't I :)

I really think this is something that should have been tested before release though. It'd be in my top 3 for testing to make sure video playback works.
