Yes all worked well, closed youtube to try out the scroll update. start youtube again black screen then google apps has stopped and must close.

that's the issue with this youtube version - you have to logout of your youtube a/c before closing it - how to fix i don't know that - search on google - others have had that issue, maybe they have solved it.

You need to remove the /data/data/com.google.android.youtube/shared_prefs/youtube.xml file. I figured out the fix last night and have been trying to figure out exactly which item causes the Youtube app to barf. I'll write a (very small!) program that one can install that will clear out the offending info once I've figured out exactly what it is.
