Various members have had issues when trying to upgrade the firmware from the Storage Options website. Ive noticed that they have updated their downloads section with a warning, reads as follows:

"Please be aware that this firmware update should only be applied to 7" Scrolls which are currently running firmware version 1.00 and experiencing an issue where the Scroll reports a battery charge of 5% when booted.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS UNDER ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. "

This applies to the V1.02 update currently posted on their website. Users who have the 0.94 & 1.01 versions should therefore not attempt the upgrade. Bit late, but better late than never I guess!

Crikey! If it's that potentially damaging why are they making it generally available? Surely providing it as needed when users request support would be safer...

Hmm. My B grade scroll has just arrived with 1.02. I wonder if it needed it.

if it has 1.02 pre-installed then its fine. I actually did install the 1.02 upgrade on mine which had 1.01 previously but others have had serious issues.

My scroll has 1.02, but my friend's was running 1.01. Since she could not run the Market hack I found we upgraded her to 1.02 with the upgrade from the site and everything is running fine (there's no YooChoob app in 1.02, though, but it's a good trade off to get the full Market running).

I updated quite early in the release from V1.01 to V1.02 without any issues, and it has certainly improved the battery issue, although I also no longer have the YouTube App, or a working Market Place !

Youtube can be downloaded quite easily. I can't remember where from but I'm pretty sure I just googled it. I have the apk file on my PC if anyone can't find it.
