Hi guys,

Just some information from the SO site, about their new tablet, that I found. It looks like it ticks all the boxes for my needs, the only possible downside is, that it does not say whether or not it has full market support. (I am guessing that it does not, hope I am wrong)

Storage Options Scroll Excel 7” Tablet PC Android 2.3

Scroll Excel is a portable, capacitive touch-screen Android 2.3 tablet made especially for internet browsing, social networking, games, videos, apps and an almost limitless number of other applications. The highlight of the tablet’s expansive multimedia capabilities is its smooth 3D and 1080p HD output to a compatible TV or Monitor via a mini HDMI cable.

Key Features

* Intuitive Capacitive Touch-Screen
* Plays 1080p HD and 3D Content on Your TV or Monitor*

Nice find Charlie, those specs and abilities should have been in our original ones

Wonder if the ROMs are compatible

Hi
I've just registered, as I've ordered one of these and its due to arrive on 12th/ 13th January 2012, if alls well with the delivery!
I've never owned an Android device or a tablet, but I extensively use my iPhone 3GS on a daily basis for emails and web surfing, instead of a laptop. This one was featured on The Gadget Show and at this price I thought it was worth a dabble and the wife won't shout at me too much at that price.
I considered an iPad, but there over priced, lack customisability and can't handle flash of any kind!

I'm hoping that it lives up to my expectations, but going by the reviews I've seen, I'm not worrying.

So until it arrives, it gives me time to cruise this forum an learn a few things about the platform. I've already got Tapatalk on my iPhone, so theres a bonus already! LOL

I'm not all that impressed with the quality of the Scroll Excell HD & 3D into my HD 42"TV via HDMI lead, how do other find it. Or is it just mine, it's rather pixilated, I was surprised even on high quality settings.

@Mitre,

So is the output to a TV not that great for viewing iPlayer and ITV player ect?? - Could you do a test for me, if you have time, see what the output is like on the TV for watching a film via Blinkbox.com (you can test with a free film that they have)

Does the HDMI output have the same issue as the original Scroll - where it misses off about an inch on all sides of the TV screen?

Cheers

ok i will do a test with blink over the weekend and post back and i'lll test the iplayers too when i plugged the scroll into the tv i had about 5 inches either side of the screen but changed the tv's screen setting to game mode and it was perfect
so it may be dependant on your tv set as to what works best
BTW my tv has bbciplayer built in and when veiwed on that the picture is watchable but not great like a dodgy old vhs from days gone by

Yes, It was the bbc iplayer that I was watching. I suppose I was expecting it to be sent at 1080 via the HDMI outlet and not just a blown up version. I'll check out Rio and Blinkbox, thanks guys.

It will only send it at 1080 if it is native 1080 it will not upscale and fill in the blanks

I agree, but it's implied that video running at 1080 on the pad is watch able via an HDMI lead on a HD TV. It does works but the quality is poor due to the up scaling.

Happy New Year.
