Postby sclasby » January 30th, 2011, 7:18 pm

Opened my Scroll Options tablet,, switched it on,set up the wifi network...all fine so far...suddenly get a blank white screen ..can't do a thing with it...tried pressing and holding the power button in an attempt to reset the thing...nothing...what's going on is it the device or is it operator malfunction? HELP!

Hi

Can you try resetting to default?
I know you cant turn it off, have you held in the power button for ten seconds or longer. If this turns it off, hold down the vol up button then press and hold pwr button until you see recovery menu.
If not, leave it until battery dies the hold in the buttons mentioned and plug in power lead.

Let us know how you get on...

yep, leave it till the battery dies as fonefixer said, once its dead and you reconnect the charger it should reboot.

Yep ..tried that but to no avail....I will try it again though...surely if there is a bit left in the battery it should work. Got it on charge now. Otherwise it's back to Maplins! Thanks for your reply ....will keep you informed.

The important bit to remember is that it needs to go off completely. Once it has you will need to hold the buttons previously mentioned ( vol+ and pwr) before plugging in the charger. The action of plugging it in will cause it to boot immediately, if you have the buttons pressed correctly, into the recovery menu.

If that fails, return it, its knackered.

Left it on all night...battery flat this AM. Held the buttons in plugged in the charger...hey presto...blank screen still persisits...phoned Maplins who graciously said they would change it for a new one, after I suggested it, as long as I had my receipt. I only bought it yesterday!!! Visit to Maplins scheduled for 6.30pm this evening!
Thank you guys for your help.
