Still loving this phone ( said in hushed voice so the Sulking Scroll doesn't hear me )

Thanks, that's' a possibility but I think I will follow FFs suggestion and start again!!

btw: Have you tried the FM radio? It's very good, even has full RDS data on stations that provide it.

it really shouldn't be long as they have only just released 2.3. for the galaxy s. however they pulled it an hour later. as it had issues

Thanks FF, I'll keep monitoring ;) When Froyo arrives, will it overwrite the current version in the way a factory reset will?

Yes most likely (not your SD card tho) so any favourite apps back them up to your SD card, Titanium Backup is a good app for that - Also use Kies to backup your contacts and any other personal data that is stored on the phones memory.

Here's a few upgrade tips for you all

Make sure the handset is FULLY charged.

Remove the memory card before connecting it to your pc.

Back up your contacts with KIES or on to your sim card (note - multiple numbers for one name will not be put on a sim card, only the first one) KIES will back up all of them. I always keep a written text file with all the numbers I have just in case. The upgrade WILL wipe them if stored on the handset.

You do not need the sim in your handset to connect it to KIES and upgrade the firmware. I always remove them for safety reasons but disable any sim pins that are active before removal, the upgrade can cause issues with reading a pin number on sims made by Gemplus.

During the upgrade DO NOT move the handset in any way - if the connection is lost you'll kill it. Also, dont disconnect the handset unless KIES tells you to.

Remove all USB connected storage devices from your pc/laptop before connecting the handset/starting KIES. There has been issues in the past with this.

KIES should force the handset to reset to default after the upgrade, my suggestion is to do it yourself again after just to make sure.

Make sure you connect your handset to your pc, and it says "connected" before starting KIES.

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

MAYBE NO FROYO 2.2

Hi Guys ,

Its either cloak and dagger time,or the UK is not to receive this for the apollo. Here is an email reply I got from Samsung today in which I asked the question WHEN ?

" Thank you for contacting Samsung and I have pleasure in providing the following assistance :

Regarding your case, kindly note that in the meantime the Froyo upgrade has been released for the Galaxy S
phones only. More information on whether it would be developed for the other Android Phones, are still
unknown.

We sincerely apologize for your inconvenience. However, please always check on our official website "

Any comments..................??????????????????????????..............
