Right, not so good this time! Ran Odin, selected the downloaded one package tar file and it ran as usual for 6.5 minutes, said 'Pass' I disconnected and was left with just Samsung on the display. Held down the power button until it restarted, got the usual start up screen with the animated display, 'Samsung' appeared on the display. The word Samsung 'pulsed' three times and that's all.

Tried again with Odin and got a message 'cannot open USB serial port - code 5'. Tried power off again and now it just sits displaying GT-I5800.

This on the Apollo I flashed back to 2.1 btw, not the one from you. Shall I try flashing back to 2.1?

Yes, flash back to 2.1 should be ok.

How long did you leave it to reboot? If its flashing a bootloader it takes up to ten mins to restart.

Not sure how long I left it but it did nothing in that unknown period of time!! However, flashed it back to 2.1 no problem so tried JPQ again but same "cannot open USB port" message in Odin. What does that mean?

ill get it sorted in the next day or so.... ill post on here when done. Its a bootloader issue (secondary not primary).

Ill get hold of a 5800 at work tomorrow and flash it myself to make sure it works beforehand. In the meantime ill remove the link.
