Anyone know if you can use a higher micro sd card higher than 4 gigs with this phone. If not , why will it not accept a higher capacity card ?
Second question.......When Froyo arrives (if) will it enable me to directly download to my storage card without it being rooted ?

I have a 16GB card in mine and I believe it will accept 32GB but they are expensive.

As to Froyo I can download and transfer files to the SD card on my Galaxy Tab!

Scope: Yes and ...um...yes. 32GB is the largest. Yes froyo will let you do it but you will need to install to default first, then move it in some cases.

I'm on what exactly? LOL

Well you are the go-to-geezer on phones , I might be able to shoot the privates off a flea at 800 yards but this technology is a struggle to me. I mean I was trained to jump off a boat and run up beaches under machine gun fire, so thats my level of brain cells !!

I will be returning for advice on arrival of Fredo, Freudo , Frodo, Fido or whatever it is we are all waiting for, a bit like waiting for the cavalry to ride over the hill , lets hope they are not flogging a dead horse !

Lets all hope also its not like a US special forces helicopter that crashes on operation, and has to be destroyed !

HEY FoneFixer

I have been wondering how successful this is for our phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos ... tcount=112
Two questions
Do you advise it
Will it screw up Foyo if it is installed prior to a samsung official relase

Hi Scope

1) Do I advise it? hmmm officially no, but personally I would use something like z4root so you can unroot it again.
2) Possibly. KIES can be hormonal at the best of times, it tends to dislike rooted handsets - if it does upgrade it ok it will remove the root.

Mitre: I understand your frustration, im personally forwarding 100-200 emails a day from disgruntled customers direct to Samsung's exec office about this. They have told me they are unhappy about my doing so , but my reply has been "Tough, you lied to customers, you deal with the complaints". I do have the jpf froyo on mine now which works correctly with no bugs I can find.

If anyone would like to load the jpf firmware pm me and ill sort the required files out and even call you to guide you through the process if needed. It really is a simple process (but then ive done it thousands of times).

Sorry I cant be of any more assistance. If you do choose to return it could you please post the result in this thread.

PM returned with link to the odin prog and ops files, also a link to a screenshot i made of odin in action (im not in it, im too big and ugly to fit in the camera!)

Ill pm you a link to the jpf file when ive uploaded it. Both the uploads will need unpacking one level with winzip or similar. DO NOT unpack the tar files in the folder in any way. They get put in odin as they are. (in the correct place of course)

Dont forget: Battery must be nearly or fully charged, antivirus & firewall disabled on pc, odin is run as administrator.
