Netflix, Lovefilm or ???

I usually rip them as soon as I get them and send them back straight away, giving me a couple of days to watch them before the next ones arrive.
But yeah, you do need to be watching things often to justify the monthly cost. Not having control over what they send sucks too.
There just is no (legal) generally awesome video-on-demand service out there yet.

Similarly unimpressed by Lovefilm, I think it's largely down to my lack of organisation/having a 7 month old baby, but I cancelled due to blu-rays being sat on my shelf for weeks, viewing on computer as and when just seems easier....

I am in a similar situation, so that is why I am testing the on-demand (monthly subscription) streaming services from Netflix and Lovefilm and (PAYG) BlinkBox

So far I have been watching more via Netflix (better interface for TV) and they have some content included in the £6 a month price, this is charged extra for (£3.49) on lovefilm. Also I use blinkbox and on a Monday you can get a film for 99p - the one I am going to watch tonight is not on netfilx, but is on lovefilm but at a cost of £3.49.

Also the way I have my PC & TV setup - I find the quality of picture and sound to be great, ok it's not always full HD and it's not blue-ray but it is very good considering it's live streaming, better than normal SD TV through an aerial or satellite.

What system are you going over to for TV reception Charlie?

FreeSat, if think. - We can only get Satellite here, very poor signal for normal digital tv. TBH I would rather get all content on-demand via broadband.

I have a few things:

- FreeSat HD box I got off eBay for £30, normally £50 - it's a Bush one. It has iPlayer on it - not HD I don't think but pretty good. Sometimes doesn't work though...

- Stream Netflix through the Wii - again not HD but convenient and earned £15 with Quidco just for doing the 30 day free trial.

- Have tried Lovefilm but keep forgetting to send things back.

I only have a netbook which can't hack streaming except for iPlayer on low quality (hence looking into the Extreme!)

Netflix is good if you like slightly older stuff and/or haven't seen a lot of TV series (24, Prison Break, the 4400 spring to mind)

I'm currently on a Lovefilm "welcome back" 3 months for the price of 1 deal, which I intend to cancel after it's done. Then I'll try Sky Movies again, since they've done a lot with on-demand content since I was last with them and they are no longer limiting their on-demand stuff to their own broadband subscribers.

Going to get rid of Lovefilm (streaming), I really don't like the web interface. Sticking with Netflix for another month.

I went back to Sky last week, got their new box for on-demand HD movies straight to the box, since you don't need the Sky broadband to make it work anymore. Seems like I've found my new favourite . Unfortunately some software issues on the box that people are having ruins the experience. Videos pause for a few seconds sometimes, not buffer-related either. The amount of stuff on there is pretty amazing though and a large amount of it is in HD.

Does that cost extra to do? - I am on the edge to getting rid of Sky completely.

So why if we pay money for Sky services and choose to root our Android devices, that we can not get Sky Go - <FacePalm>, the name for the "Sky Go" service really is making me want to move from Sky as I do "Believe in Better" and at the mo' for me, it is NOT Sky.

No, its free lol tbf Sky do suck... There movies updates list like once a week, and half the time they are all old movies. Ive only got the Movies add on... lol
