Bye Bye Flash?

Postby sterling101 » November 9th, 2011, 5:06 pm

Saw a news article today saying that Adobe are going to shelve development of Flash on all mobile platforms.

Story is here - http://tinyurl.com/cvhhfoc

So I wonder what the BBC will do with the iPlayer as they swore their allegiance to Flash and said they wouldn't support anything else on Android.

Could be game changing for the whole mobile web as now more sites will be pushing towards html5 over flash but at least it opens up a more compatible future across all chip versions and the older ARM11 devices shouldn't be left out in the wilderness any more - hopefully!

this is a turn in the right direction for android as there are so many arm11 chips still being used
we'll have to see where it goes
WHAT DO WE WANT?
A TIME MACHINE!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT?
IT DOESN'T MATTER

Aye, this could be very good news for my scroll 7" and my Apollo phone :D - I will be interested to see how this pans out.

HTML5 is the way forward, as it opens up the posibilities for other platform users to share exactly the same web experience.
In the rose tinted world of the web developer, imagine the posibilities of everyone being able to see your content in exactly the same way! It wouldn't matter if you use a Mac, PC, laptop, mobile phone or tablet.

I'll see it when I see it, but here's hopeing!
