I would try your update.zips but I wont learn by applying updates, I like to know exactly what is happening so if anything goes wrong I know what to fix

Also I have the scroll all setup and running nicely, and dont fancy having to backup and restore as the last restore I did gave me endless errors on boot and I had to reset the factory defaults again

As posted above -

rename phone.apk mms.apk and telephoneyprovider.apk - to .old (if not renamed in this order you get a fc loop that re-booting does not solve ) remember the order is P M T

NOTE - you will have to reboot when the 1st phone.apk is renamed.

Edit - this worked on fm v0.94

Yes, just renamed it. I've been deleting the temp files for ages using GScript and never had a side effect. It's strange now I don't have to, like something's missing ;)

I don't claim credit for discovering it, found the answer on xda-dev after loads of googling

how can i do the GScript method instead? - thanks

Gscript Lite allows you to save a shell script as a shortcut. I used the following to delete the files:

cd sdcard
rm *.tmp

Anyone who hasn't rooted yet needs to untick the box "needs su" else it won't run.

I also took the opportunity to remove the 3D Gallery app

Where do I find this? The tmp files are annoying a hell!

Thanks,Earlier I renamed MMS first, then Phone and ended up getting stuck in the loop

Done, does this now mean I can remove "Airplane Mode Wifi Tool" and APNDroid ?

Feel like such a noob asking all these questions, Ive been all Windows for the past 15+ years, kinda nice to not know anything and have to learn from scratch

Seems to be quite an improvement in Free RAM after removing these files, getting around 80MB+ free now as opposed to 50-70Mb before
