Hi Guys - Thanks for the info. I used z4root and have successfully rooted however for some reason I can not locate the telephone related files (I am using super manager with access to su). Where are they located? Also how are you supposed to navigate/select in maintenance mode?
Thanks in anticipation :D

What do you mean navigate select in "maintenance mode"? Supermanager is similar to astro if you are familar with that file manager

If you hold the vol key and the power key the tablet starts in maintenance mode. The home key gives you a selection of
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

It starts with reboot system now highlighted in blue. None of the hard keys or the touchscreen appear to do anything to change the selection or select anything so how do you interact with this??

EDIT: I have since discovered that the volume control moves the selection so I am assuming that pressing the power switch implements the action.

2nd EDIT: Got rid of phone and messaging apps and now can see paid for apps in market place and have download BT FON, a free app that was not visible before! So thanks to you guys for a really useful mod.

Thanks Warpedflash, thanks charlie, I've rooted my v0.94 scroll and removed the phone etc apks and everything's running better than before. It also feels like my tablet now :)

I also took the opportunity to remove the 3D Gallery app which has bugged me since the start by creating all those temp files on the storage card - I honestly never thought I'd see the end of those.

I'm going to be removing other stuff I don't need and will report if I get problems.
