Finally got this installed and just trying to do a full backup, seems to be taking a long time. Any idea how long a backup should take?

Full backup will depend on how many apps you have installed etc

Stock backup takes a few minutes, my last backup with lots installed took a bit longer

Ok got backup sorted it just froze on the first attempt. The second attempt came back wit this.....

This is a bit confusing its saying my card is a 2gig card then it says no card found and its skipping backup then backup complete, have i backed up correctly?

Now what do i hack next....this is getting addictive now lol.

Yep that right, it skips the SDCard backup as the backup is being saved to there, you can not backup a drive to itself

Next you could install Update.zip in the guides part of the forum, this will kill the phone apk's and massively improve battery life, also adds a new build.prop file which improves performance and tweaks the scroll up nicely

I have finaly got this installed and working via my Windows 7 (64bit) laptop.
If any one else is still having trouble with Windows 7 let me know and I will type up how I did it.

Naw, Charlie, I just renamed the old one to build.prop.orig and put the new one in. Then every time I do another one, I names the last one build.prop.old1 .old2 etc

but what if the build.prop had not worked, i thought this file ran on boot up, if the file was wrong it would not boot up,and you would not get back in to change the file name back to the original on the scroll?

you missed the point - i was just trying to learn, (i know yours works) just wanted to know what would happen if you put one on how diego did, and it didn't work.
