A little more detail if you don't mind Veng..

First things first, make sure you get a Wifi connection ASAP. I usually do the first main steps of the setup script, but skip the Google account stuff and press the Home icon when it appears in the notification bar.

What are those first steps and do I need a Google mail account?

Then I download 2 widgets, one to put Plane mode on and one to put Wifi on. I then put on Plane mode, and then put Wifi back on as Plane mode turns it off.

Names of the widgets?

Okay, started up this morning. I didn't see any setup script. No Google account stuff. Ran the Home install, no market icon on desktop.

Someone give me a hand?

Okay, so I see the market, but not on teh desktop; it's in apps (the pop-out thingy on the right).

When you click in the market, do you then get a google account setup wizard?

Yes. I've set up a gmail account now and I've installed a plane mode widget. Looking for a Wifi widget now. Which do you suggest?

I think they are all much of a muchness.

Ages ago I bought a copy of Beautiful Widgets to stick on my old Android 1.6 HTC Magic, so I just use theirs now.

Done and done. I didn't see "Only use 2G networks". Where is that and what should I do/set next?

Settings / Wireless / Mobile Settings or something?

Not sure as I don't have the Scroll to hand.

I've looked all through it and can't see anything like that. No worries, maybe you can point it out later.

On the USB->PC, do you just unplug it when done? I can't see where one unmounts it..

Unmounting it on the PC will be fine.
