Any reason we aren't allowed to attach APK's to our posts?

Would be quite handy if we could!

Because that could lead to files that are paid for being uploaded which will result in trouble

Rar files under 256K can be attached

The board will be set to default to only allow certain file types, in order to allow .apk files to be attached, Admin would need to add the .apk extension to the list of allowed file types

You can do that if you RAR them anyway.

We will just ban users and remove posts if it's dodgy.

Also.... google is your friend... youy want something and are too poor/cheap to pay for it, google the file add .apk on the end and your very likely to find a link...

So why risk a good forum by possibly landing them in hot water, trust me I know this sort of thing....

That's NOT to say if you've written your OWN app.. you wouldn't be allowed to post it here I think the admins are smart enough to recignise the difference thio!!

Warpedflash and Morgan are correct.
Upload your files to sharing sites like MediaFire, Uploading.com and FileDropper and link to it.
Links to content elsewhere is fine. Hosting content on here made by others is not (usually).
I know it's 1 more step for everyone, but it's the way it has to be to keep the forum safe from trouble.
Otherwise eventually we'll become a target for DMCA requests and potential legal action.

Fair enough. You can do dropbox public files too?

@brianzion - It should be fine to link to there - if not the links will just get removed.:D
