Promoting the Forums

Postby Steveee-B » January 5th, 2011, 10:36 pm

Hi Folks.

Is there anyway you can advertise/promote this site a bit better as It took me ages before I stumbled upon it.
It didn't come up at all on Yahoo search.

With more hits from search engines there may be a lot more people looking for help or that are able to contribute to the cause.

Keep up the good work guys, I reckon this forum will go from strength to strength.

Give it some time - as the post count increases the forum should move further up the search results.
Mind you, it didn't help that Storage Options called it the 'Scroll'. It's a bit of a generic name, good search results will be buried in a load of noise.

I've actually optimised this site to be found on the search engines (mainly google) from the get-go. The problem right now is that it's less than a month old - which Google views as not established yet. However, as the days go by and more and more user comments and content gets posted here it's moving higher and higher up in the SERPS. For example, after indexing (which took less than 24hrs) it was showing on page 4 of the google serps for the term 'scroll tablet'. TODAY it's on page 1 right at the bottom of the page. It's moving guys. Just give it some time and of course, any links you can post on ANY sites will help a LOT. Thanks.

We are on page 2 if you search for:

storage options scroll forum

Which most people will, I think.

I expect us to be on page 1 in a few days or so.
