Not that I use facebook, but I found a link (below) that says the android facebook app supports chat from V1.5. upwards. Download it from the market, or if yours is busted have a look on t'net for the facecook 1.5.1 apk file.

There is a facebook app on the scroll, if your market is working you should be able to update it to the latest version. If your market is broken, use the forum search and type in "market fix".
