I am going on a plane trip soon for 9 hours and know my scroll battery will die over the atlantic. Is there any way to power the device from an external source?

one of those universal battery packs will probably do, but i'd recommend one that can output the same as the scroll mains charger (ive an old nokia charger with the same small jack plug that works well).
failing that im sure the normal 'freeloader' type chargers will do the job, however i'm not convinced it'll make the scroll last much longer lol

You could use a multi-laptop charger that usually has a USB 5v output on it and come with a plethora of input connectors (So you can plug it into the power sockets on airplanes) Don't know if cattle-class has these as I'm always business which does.
