I was pleased to see that Storage Options have updated the software for the old Scroll 8" I have at home. The problem is, they list it as the "Special Edition 51951". I have the original Scroll, which at the time was the 51951 (and still is on the Amazon site) and I got a special edition one for someone and that was model 53136. The main difference as far as I can see was mine was 2.1 and the Special Edition was 2.3, and I'd love to get 2.3 instead. I did the CWM and CyanogenMod update to 2.3.7 but an awful lot of the hardware didn't work any more, so I put it back to 2.1. I now want to run the update, but can't get it to install. I get the error message
"Assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "tcc8900" || getprop("ro.build.product) =="tcc8900"
E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
I gather this might be something to do with CWM, but try as I might I can't remove that. Or is it the update is for the special edition, and the model number is wrong? Can anyone give me any helpful advice before I go grey from the sheer frustration.
