My Scroll Excel won't turn on?!!

HI, this is my first tablet and I've had it for several months. Up until now, it has worked perfectly well, but all of a sudden it is refusing to turn on. When I attempt to turn it on, it reaches the storage options (Balloon) screen and then turns itself off. It repeats this process over and over until I manually turn it off. I've followed all of these reset instructions and to no avail. I've even tried to factory reset it, and still nothing.

Does anybody have any idea what is happening or how i can fix it? it would really be appreciated!

Hi Ben,

You made your post in the "Tutorials and How to" section.
"Tutorials and how to" is for what it says for posts telling you how to not asking for help.
So I hope you don't mind, I have moved your post to the help section where others can more easily see it.

Are you sure that your tablet is fully charged as a similar problem can occur when the tablet is almost out of energy?

Thanks for moving it, my bad I guess. I've had it charging for the past 6 hours or so and have just checked to see if it will work again, but still nothing. I'll keep it charging for a few hours longer and then try again. If it still isnt working, or if nobody has any other advice, then I may have to either go to an expert or a part exchange and try and get some money from it to pay for a new new tablet.

Sorry to bang on about this but are you absolutely certain it is actually charging?
Sometimes chargers or connections fail and we don't know about it.
Sometimes you can trickle charge using the USB connection if main charging options fail.

My mains charger broke months ago and so i have always charged through a USB, it works perfectly well and when it is on, it shows it charging and when it off it shows the charging image. So it is charging it just wont turn on, i mean it begins to turn on and then it turns itself off as previously mentioned.

Oh dear, this story sounds a bit familiar when you search the pages on the forum and usually ends up with those who know how to flash a new rom doing so and those who don't sending it back to the manufacturer.

How old is your tablet Ben and which model is it, this may help decide on your next best step.

I believe its only a year and a half old, and on the back it says "Scroll Excel Tablet PC" and then "Part No. 53715 at the side the is a code "3400mAH - 5V"

Yes this is one of the original Scroll Excels with the Cortex A8 Allwinner A10 chip which means it is pretty easy to flash new firmware - that is of course assuming your problems are firmware related in the first place.

You might want to have a bit of a study here

followed the video and its only made it worse, no biggie. Now it just shows a plain white screen.
Tried many different ways to factory reset and none of them work.

I'm thinking my best option is just to go to a part exchange and get a new tablet!

Which Rom did you use?
