I made the mistake of selecting the wrong "homepage" option when I first set up the tablet. Now I can't get the Marketplace to stay on the homepage. Someone on the eBuyer forum suggested pressing and holding the home key,but this doesn't work - it just pops up a message saying "no recent applications".

Has anyone managed to re-instate the Marketplace?

I did try a factory reset, hoping that I would be offered the option again, but I wasn't

try this:

1. Navigate to settings and press applications, then press manage applications
2. Then find the app called Home
3. Press that, then scroll down to where it says clear defaults, press that button
4. Press Home (physical button)
5. Tick use this as default action and press home market place

I got as far as Step 3, but the "Clear Defaults" button is disabled. Alongside it says "No defaults set"

hmm... what happends when you press the home physical button?

Sounds obvious but...it takes me back to the home screen.

Sorry bit of a stupid question, have you tried re-installing the market app?

If you mean Pkg: org.marketlauncher then yes, I have un-installed and re-installed it a few times!

Hmm.. can't seem to work out what it could be! Does it disappear from the app launcher as well as the home screen?

You could try downloading a different app launcher e.g. launcher pro
then once installed press the home button and make sure you press the market home this time

I'm about to get one of these, what is the right option? Market? Can someone run through what I -should- do when I get/start this? Also, how long should it be charged the first time?

My wife was talked into getting me a £150 Disgo 6000 by HMV's staff and it sucked major ass: Intermitant Wi-fi, VPN settings without VPN actually being available on the device (verified with Customer Support) and no USB/PC connectivity. They (HMV) smiled at me the whole time they were refunding me in cash. It was kinda creepy.

Something I don't see mentioned in the manual at all: can you define the device's IP and default gateway, netmask, etc?
