Unable to download using Android market

Apologies if this has been addressed already. I have just taken delivery of a Scroll tablet, and diligently followed the instructions to install the above Android apk shipped with the device and as per the manual.
I am connected and can browse the market without problem, however when I go to download/install an app e.g. kindle for android or even dictionary.com via the market, it simply hangs in "downloading" state
I do not think I am alone here:

Thanks

Its a known issue with firmware v1.01
Scroll Options are working on an update, there is a temp workaround I think somewhere on this site, but the easiest way is to factory reset the scroll, and download as many apps as you can before it breaks again

Many thanks for your reply. Factory resetting seems rather drastic, what gets lost in the reset? As it stands I have not managed to download any apps so wont lose much at this stage....

Just your user data ie. Any personal data, any apps you have installed,
basically it will revert to how it was when you first turned it on
It is a drastic fix, but the manufacturers are on the case so should be fixed with the new firmware release

We dont mind questions

Firmware: No idea they have sadi hopefully this week for the last week or two from what i have read so go with hopefully this month lol. Alternativly there are peopl working on getting 2.2 up and running which will also hopefully have the full market working.
you should have "app installer" in your app drawer, copy the ".apk" for whatever you want to install onto your SD card, stick it in the scrol and then open this app. it will ask you where to look for the apk files enter "/sdcard" if you put them in a folder on the sd card (mine are in apk) edit that appropriatly, so mine is "/sdcard/apk"
It will then list the apps you can install. press then to open the installer

Yea you can download the apps from your PC via google search etc - they end in .apk - then connect your scroll to the PC via USB, drag the taskbar at the top of the scroll down to reveal the USB Drives info, click on External USB (If you have an SDCard in, if not, use Internal USB, and then choose mount, this will autorun the drive on the PC - copy the .apk file to the drive, then Unmount it the same way you mounted it
Use App Installer from the app drawer in the scroll and press Menu > Scan drive
It will ask what is the location, if you chose the sdcard, type in /sdcard
if you chose the internal memory, it will be /nand, but defaults to that location anyway
Then just click on the .apk, and follow onscreen instructions for the install, and the app will appear installed in the app draw
