Help please!!!!

I have had my scroll tablet since November, I think I must have done something by mistake as everytime I now try to down load anything I keep getting the message 'THE REQUESTED ITEM COULD NOT BE FOUND' Could any one please tell me what I have done.

One of the software guru's will no doubt answer your query shortly. However, here's an educated guess.

Do you have any kind of antivirus installed on your scroll? If so disable / uninstall it and see if the problem persists. Also, if you use a file manager such as astro or andexplorer are you totally unable to locate the file? What is it youre trying to download?

Thanks for your quick reply, I don't (as yet) have an antivirus installed, should I? It seems to be everything I try to download or look at directly from a web page! Do I have to load apps through a store (think this may be where I am going wrong if so). Not sure what you mean by using a file manager, can you please explain (am not too sure). I have just tried to download directly from the scroll apps, which appear to work fine, I was hoping to download Skype though!

If you havent got AV installed, dont worry about it.

As you know, the Scroll does not have an official working android market, which is where you would normally get apps from. Try googling for "alternative android market" or "slideme". You can then download apps, or using a pc "side oad" them onto a memory card and install them onto your scroll that way. As I said before, my software help is pretty basic, im a hardware specialist. Someone else more savvy than I will post a reply soon.

No problem. Dont forget that you will need files with the extension .apk

They are basically special zip setup files for android devices
