Just brought a 7" Scroll Tablet 1 from maplins.

The firmware seems upto date :

Firmware : 1.02s
Baseband : 1.02s
Kernel : 2.6.29
Build : 2.1

My problem is that I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone and so I have in my mind what I expected from this tablet. I know the chips slower with less memory but would this have any impact on the touch screen response? I only want it for basic internet and ebooks - besides most apps I've installed are great (nimbuz / google maps / kindle)

Any app I use when touching the screen for movement the screen almost seems to jump around like random when I try and scroll around.

Go on the internet and scroll down with my finger to read the page lower down and it scrolls down jumps back up / moves right / left, etc.

My samsumg I just stroke it lightly with the tip of my finger and its perfect like my brothers ipad2. The scroll tablet I have to press hard and move my finger and basically hope for the best !!

Is this normal or a faulty screen?

I installed a free hand drawing app and notice when I draw I get random inch lines when I've not touched the screen!

Any idea how to fix / normal or faulty ?

This is all normal for the scroll as it has a resistive screen.

Comparing the Scroll to a samsung is a bit biased Resistive screens dont feel right once you have used the more sensitive capacitive ones.

Get used to pressing hard. Try playing air control for a couple of hours.

With the samsung your limited to using your finger, With the Scroll you have a stylus - Ditch that useless thing and get yourself a more sturdy one!

What .... One never came in the box, there's no slot anywhere on the case to store one. Yet just tried my DS stylus and now its perfect!

Can control the screen perfectly - shame I dumped my fancy PalmOS T3 pen.

Maybe they should of spent a few pence and included one in the box and stop all the negative impressions. My mom wanted one but I told her to save her money!
