Welcome message on boot

Postby Charlie » January 6th, 2011, 11:13 am

Hi,

(not an issue - more of a mini tweak, i would like to do)

When i switch on the tablet the scroll logo appears with is fine then in silver the word 'welcome' appears just before the 'android' loading part.

1. Do others have this 'welcome' message too?

2. Can it be changed?

I have that message as well, quite annoying really, I would prefer if the scroll were to boot using the initial "scroll" white screen folowed by the "andoid" screen

I say it will be able to be changed once we have a set of tools made up, my htc diamond had a pink T-Mobile splash screen which I was able to change to a much nicer Touch Diamond black screen with silver words

Early days for customising this device, but Im confident we`ll get there

I think this could be changed by decompiling / recompiling the framework-res.apk file, although WarpedFlash may offer more insight here.

I still dont have my scroll so cannot say for sure (so im speculating lol) but as this loads before the Android loading screen is it not stored in teh boot.img partition? In which case eyou would have to decompress/edit/compress that to change it?

It must be killing you seeing all this going on and not having your scroll yet, when are you expecting it ?
